Katrina Nicholas joined Channel Nine’s business unit in 2005 as a reporter, contributing to Business Sunday and National Nine News.

A graduate of the University of Technology, Sydney with degrees in law (honours) and communications, Nicholas has extensive experience in reporting on corporate Australia.

In 1999, she joined The Sydney Morning Herald as a business reporter. She covered the spectacular dot com boom and bust, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, and major business developments both locally and in Asia. She produced a weekly “hot stock” column for the money pages and also wrote features for the Spectrum and News Review sections.

In 2001, Nicholas moved to The Australian Financial Review as a senior companies reporter before becoming deputy editor of the companies section.

At Nine she has quickly built on a proven track record, notching up a profile of Jack Cowin, the low-key Hungry Jack’s founder, and breaking the news of Telstra’s appointment of new CEO, Solomon Trujillo.
